AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous transformations echo through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a clandestine group.
The mission focuses on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Features
Players who finish the quest will acquire an exclusive katana together with multiple items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime properties. The series earlier showcased a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
