I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the customary confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
