Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with his coach and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after March of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six finals, including in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.

However the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.

He saved four early-game opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
